Where were you born:
I was born In South London at Kings college hospital.
Where do you live now:
I live (most of the time) in South London next to Brixton alone (my parents moved to Devon countryside when I was 16 but I stayed in London)
Could you tell me a little bit about your parents:
My father is from London he's lived all around he was a model with Models 1 at my age and he made clothes for bands and ran a small telephone business with his friend in Fulham. He partied a lot and he loves old cars and boats. My parents were never into having a big house or lots of luxuries as well as not being able to afford such things aha, but we have a collection of old bangers (ford Capri, cortina, Beatle and some cool old retro speed boats and my Catamaran boat which I sail - my god father got me that one tho)
My mum was born in Devon - she's half Colombian and has some German down the line.
She works in film - use to work for Warner Bros and worked with Stanley Kubrick, Jack Nicholson and couple other funky people. She hates having her picture taken even tho she's beautiful.
A couple of things of which you have done or are doing now and
your inspiration and reasons for doing them:
I sail race catamarans. I've got my powerboat license to drive speedboats. I use to play violin for 7 years I always broke my violin and my parents got tired aha. My hand eye coordination is a little off so I couldn't play many team sports but I loved football as a kid and I still love long distance running. Acting I loved at school literature is my main passion I love reading and writing poetry, creative writing and spoken word, I continued to study English lit alongside philosophy at university In Leeds. I'm very passionate about music - life is not worth living without it - discovering and listening to new music from many genres and attending gigs is a big pastime of mine, secretly I'd love to be in a band as a singer maybe that could happen! for now I’m Happy writing songs in my room and singing alone.
What is beauty to you:
Beauty to me is the power, which allows everyone to feel unique.
What do you find beautiful in others:
I appreciate beauty around me whether it's admiring someone's external features or appreciating they beauty within - like a good heart or soul, there’s nothing more beautiful than that.
What are your thoughts about ageing and beauty:
As we grow older we become wiser and more aware of the world around us. if we learn to be happy with ageing and we look after our bodies and soul I think we can all feel and look more beautiful with each day that comes. My grandma is so stylish and beautiful she's an inspiration to me.
What gives you strength in life:
My family, although they are quite far from me they are my rock and as I've grown older I've realised this more so.
Having time alone I feel is very important and being comfortable with being alone.
My Greek friend Daphne - she's is such an incredible person.
I also value seeing the world - travelling keeps me strong!
What gives you a sense of identity:
That's hard - I'm still trying to find out my identity - I suppose each day I build on my sense of identity.
What causes are close to you heart:
Big issues are misogyny vs feminism I believe now women are often being subjected to misogyny and find themselves in a submissive/passive role with a man/men:
- Rape as act of terrorism/war.
- Violence in the home.
- Even daily socials ie Instagram allowing boys and men to see women as more "accessible" and "disposable"
Other issues close to my heart are animal violence:
- Illegal dog fighting.
- Hunting.
... I have more causes but I won't rant aha.
What do you do to keep in shape physically and how often:
I love to run for my body and for my mind! I make sure I go on at least 2 x 7k runs a week. I go to the gym and use the steam room or sauna around 3-4 times a week, and I attend a yoga class in Peckham which is 90 minutes once a week.
What do you do to keep in shape your mind:
I try to listen to the radio show ‘In our time’ before I sleep where lecturers discuss great literature and writers/poets/philosophers across the ages. I also use a lavender spray on my pillow to help me sleep as sometimes I struggle to.
What do you do to look after your skin:
I use a simple soothing skin care range by Bobbi Brown which includes a gentle oil face wash, toning water, face and eye cream. Sometimes at night I put some avocado oil from Neals Yard on my face and in my hair.
What little things do you buy just for you even though they may
never be seen or known to others:
Probably my rock and oils collection - I'm a bit of a hippy and holistic person like my father - I collect a lot of oils and rocks from Greek Islands I explore every summer.
What little things do you do just for you even though they may never be
seen or known to others:
I love a balanced and calming ambience:
I have a massive water and oil diffuser in my room from Neals Yard it puts water and certain oils of my choice into the air whilst lighting up in various lights - best way to go to sleep and wake up feeling like the air is fresh inside (At least a little better)
What is one of the most important things for you in you life whether
It’s something you have or are looking to achieve:
To achieve self-respect and self-love - that ones hard I'm quite critical of myself and quite sensitive and insecure.
Who represents a beautiful person for you at this moment and why:
My friend Stephanie Sian Smith a beautiful photographer and person inside and out - her personality is untarnished she's incredible and her photography - all dreamy and filmy and fun and natural!
A moment in your life that had a big effect on who you are now:
Going to travel the Caribbean islands by myself when I was 19 for a few weeks! Or ... Meeting a Greek nudist man who looked like Jesus with his pet iguana on the beach! on one of the small Cyclades islands.
