Where were you born:

I'm born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Where do you live now:

I currently live in New York City.

Where are your mother and father from and if you would like to a line or two about them:

Both of my parents are from Surinam which is in South America. My mother was 9 years old when she moved to the Netherlands. I have a really good relationship with her. She has always been my number support. My dad I don't really have a relationship with, but he also lives in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

A couple of things of which you have done or are doing now and your inspiration and reasons for doing them:

I studied performing arts and always had a passion for dancing, movement. I always think it’s so beautiful how your body can speak without any words. I would love to get back in to acting since that has always been my number one dream, more than modeling to be honest. And I also decided to volunteer more this year. I love to give back.

What is beauty to you:

Beauty to me is kindness and love. Beauty to me is confidence, being comfortable in your own skin. I mean there is beauty in everything but to me the most important thing is love and kindness.

What do you find beautiful in others:
Empathy.

Who represents a beautiful person for you at this moment and why:

Definitely my mother and grand mother. Seeing them both taking care of me and supporting me with every little thing in my life is amazing. I look up to them so much. They are strong and beautiful and I wouldn’t be where I am right now without them.

What are your thoughts about ageing and beauty:

In my late 20s aging used to always bother me so much, but after turning 30 I feel so good about it. I don’t know what happened, but something just made me embrace it. It’s like you get to know yourself and your flaws better and I think that’s such a nice feeling.

What gives you strength in life:
My family.

What gives you a sense of identity:
Passion for life.

What causes are close to you heart:
I donate every month to the organization called “Operation Smile”. It’s an organization that helps children with getting a surgery that were born with cleft lips and as many as 93 percent of children with untreated cleft conditions could die before their 20th birthdays. This organization speaks so much to me because I truly believe that every child deserves to live with a beautiful smile.

What do you do to keep in shape physically and how often:

I love to workout. I do pilates reformer, barre, boxing and I like to just stay active in general. I try to switch up these workouts like 5 times a week.

What do you do to keep in your mind in shape:

I daily meditate and feed my brain with books that I think are very inspiring.

What do you do to look after your skin:

Since your skin is always changing it really depends. I use different products every other season, but I love a good cleanser, facial scrubs and serum. My favorite products are currently; Eve Lom, Kiehl’s and Dr. Barbara Sturm.

What little things do you buy just for you even though they may never be seen or known to others:

I have a thing for candles… I will always just buy random candles of brands I don’t even know. They obviously have to smell good, but normally when I walk in a store and I see candles that’s the first thing I walk towards to.

What little things do you do just for you even though they may never be seen or known to others:

I like to cook myself a delicious dish and have a glass of wine and binge watch one of these really trashy reality shows haha. One of my guilty pleasures. Just by myself so no one can judge me :)

What is one of the most important things for you in you life whether its something you have or are looking to achieve:
I think the most important thing for me in my life is my mental health. To always be growing in to the best version of myself and to be physically AND mentally healthy. I have struggled with mental health issues and realized that if my mind isn’t ok, nothing really is.

A moment in your life that had a big effect on who you are now:

I think moving to the United States by myself. Learned so much by traveling on my own and to adapt to a whole new culture/lifestyle.

Any other thoughts on health, mental health, age, beauty, life you would like to share:
